The New Jersey Tomato was developed in 1934 by Rutgers University, and has been recognized around the world as the best tomato variety ever since. Jersey tomatoes ripen from the inside-out and stay on the vine longer than any other tomato. 

The Jersey Tomato Co. was founded by New Jersey natives David Stoff and Scott Stark in 2010. They started out by selling tomatoes directly from farms in Vineland and Swedesboro, NJ. After seeing the overwhelming positive response at local farmer’s markets, they crafted a sauce to spread their love for the Jersey tomato.

We believe in authenticity - in our ingredients, in our recipes, and in our representatives. That’s why The Jersey Tomato Co. brand is thrilled to partner with Tom Colicchio. 

Tom is a New Jersey native, and growing up he was nurtured by the flavors and aroma of homemade Jersey tomato sauces. As an internationally renowned chef, head judge on Bravo’s Top Chef, author, food activist, and restaurateur, he’s come a long way from his childhood kitchen in Elizabeth, New Jersey - but his commitment to fresh, home-cooked taste and authentic flavor has stayed the same.
